World of Color Dessert Party

Once upon a time, the World of Color water show at Disney’s California Adventure closed down indefinitely due to a certain 2020 pandemic. A couple years later it reopened and I thought this would be a great opportunity to watch it again because it had been literal years since I’d seen it, even before the show closed.

The hubs and I were planning a Disney trip for our anniversary so we thought we’d splurge a little by staying at the Grand Californian Hotel (which was on sale at the time because their regular pricing is RIDIC) and the World of Color Dessert Party. Making a reservation for the Dessert Party grants you reserved table seating for the later World of Color showing, along with a plate of cheese, crackers, and desserts, and two alcoholic (or non-alcoholic if you choose) beverages.

Though seating is reserved, the area is basically first-come-first-served, so it’s a good idea to check in early and have someone in your party wait in line so that you get first dibs when the castmembers seats you. We were seated at a table in front but the seating is leveled so overall everyone can have a great view.

The dessert plate is huge! We had leftovers which made a great breakfast snack the next morning. My favorite item was the chocolate cheesecake, but it was nice having the grapes, cheese, and crackers to have something savory to snack on as well.

Seeing World of Color for the first time in all these years was a treat. Having an actual seat, unobstructed view, and drinks/snacks made the experience even better. I highly recommend booking this experience at least once for a special occasion. Reservations can be made ahead of time at the Disneyland website.

And since I’m on the subject of desserts, these cute little cake shots (Choco Chip Cake + Rumchata on the left, Red Velvet + Baileys on the right) are a fun offering at the Grand Californian’s hotel bar.
