Love is an Open Restaurant

There are some exciting openings in the works for the Mira Mesa and nearby UTC area! I’m thankful that some of San Diego’s restaurants and small businesses are coming back swinging after a couple years of turmoil.

Coffee

Better Buzz Coffee is expanding their coffee empire and taking over the old Subway drive-thru in Mira Mesa. This is the same shopping center as Target and shares the building with El Pollo Loco.

Mostra Coffee‘s fourth location will be on the corner of Mira Mesa Blvd and Reagan Rd., where the long-standing double drive thru taco shop of various names throughout the years once stood. I am suuuper excited for this and being able to enjoy an iced campfire latte on that outdoor patio.

Dessert

MOCHINUT has another outpost planned–this one is taking over Mira Mesa’s previously shuttered Mama Cinia’s Rice & Noodle (RIP to them and their amazing sisig), sharing the same shopping center as Wings N Things and Best Pizza & Brew.

Somi Somi is underway at The Collection in UTC, and I am really looking forward to enjoying a fresh, red-bean filled taiyaki to fuel me for an afternoon of shopping.

Restaurants

Breakfast Republic expands their republic in Scripps Ranch, taking over My Chick which took over Bruski, sharing the busy parking lot with Trader Joe’s and Chuck E Cheese.

Golden Chopsticks has been teasing us for months now. Their sign has been up in the old Payless Shoe Store in the Mira Mesa Target shopping center for ages. I did recently see some work being done to add a fenced-off area for patio seating, so they’re getting there! I can already smell the salt & pepper chicken wings.

Board and Brew will also be opening at The Collection in UTC, throwing a nice, casual option into the mix. With all the variety of great dining options at UTC I could essentially spend all day there (if I didn’t have to pay for parking).

Saving the best for last, Menya Ultra rounds out the new options at UTC (so far). Hopefully this outpost will have more seating and *fingers crossed* a patio?!
